We are available as a quartet, trio, and duo! Don’t have space for a full kit? We’ll accommodate it! Only need a duo? We can du-o that too! Don’t want originals, we’ve got enough covers for a full night.
Check us out, visit our bandcamp, facebook, leave a comment, or email us at thegreynotesband@gmail.com and request a press kit…we’ll send it right over!

We were definitely excited for Friday’s show and it turned out pretty wonderful. In addition to thanking the organizers of the event, Shirley Green, and other act, Laura Petersen, we are thankful for you guys! Thanks for coming out. We hope you had as much fun as we did, listening to more artists and supporting local music.
We can’t wait to perform on January 15th at Club Garibaldi with two other Milwaukee bands. Laura Petersen is an acoustic folk/rock act and Shirley Green is “experimental, atmospheric modern rock with emotionally-unstable undertones”. No matter what you’re looking for, we’re sure you’ll be satisfied.
We’ve been busy with more new music and we’ll be showcasing it in January!
We are proud to announce we will be doing a show with Shirley Green and Laura Petersen. Doors open at 8 and there is an $8 cover. You can find us Friday, January 15th at Club Garibaldi. For more information check out our shows page. Be sure to check out the other bands too! We will see you all soon!
Thanks to Tally’s Tap & Eatery and to all of our fans who attended our show Nov. 6. We had a standing-room-only crowd with lots of familiar faces from as far away as Rockford, Ill., and lots of new fans. We will now retreat into Tyler’s basement to work on original music, which we hope to have ready for a recording session early next year. We had a wonderful year. Thanks to all who came out to see our shows and support live music.
We will be back at Tally’s Tap next weekend, Friday, November 6th starting at 8:30. As we close on a great year, we are excited to be giving away CD’s, playing more new originals, and saying thanks to all the people who have supported us this year!
We had a fantastic time Saturday night, Oct. 17, at the Lucky Rabbit in Waukesha. The bar/ restaurant is one of the best venues for live music in Waukesha, with a great stage and acoustics. We now return to rehearsing three new original songs and hope to have them ready soon. Our next show is Nov. 6 at Tally’s Tap & Eatery on Waukesha’s south side.
A special event will be held Oct. 14 to raise money for a scholarship in the name of Don Walker, a longtime Milwaukee Journal and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter and editor, who died suddenly in May at age 62. And members of Rebecca and the Grey Notes are proud to be a part of the event.
The event will be attempting to raise $25,000 for the Don Walker Memorial Scholarship Fund, which will provide scholarship money to a student from either Marquette University or the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to study journalism.
Michael Juley, the bass player for Rebecca and the Grey Notes, worked in the newsroom with Don during every year Don was at the paper and is a member of a committee that is organizing the event. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. at Buck Bradley’s, 1019 N. Old World Third St., in downtown Milwaukee. The event will end around 9 p.m.
The Grey Notes will be providing two hours of live music at the event, with Tyler and Michael joining harmonica player Richard Sternkopf for the first set, from 6 to 7 p.m., and Rebecca joining that group for the second set, from 7:45 to 8:45 p.m. Our first set will be mostly acoustic blues; our second set will feature Rebecca on vocals.
Admission to the event is a minimum $25 donation, which will be fully tax deductible. You can pay at the door, or go todonwalkerscholarship.org for advance donation details. The homepage also has background on Don and information on where to park. There’s also a Facebook page that gives updates on the event. Free hot and cold snacks and a cash bar, in addition to the live music, will be available.
We hope you can join us for this special occasion.
Thanks to Jessica and Tally’s Tap & Eatery for inviting us back to play on Sept. 11. We had a great time. Next up is our performance on Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Lucky Rabbit, 200 Madison St., Waukesha. The Lucky Rabbit has a great stage and is one of the premier places in Waukesha to see live music in a modern atmosphere. As always, this is a free show. Hope you can join us.
We’re looking forward to returning to what we consider our home base, Tally’s Tap & Eatery, on Waukesha’s south side this Friday, Sept. 11. We’ll be switching our set lists around so that those of you who usually attend our shows but only can stay for the first set will get to hear music from our later sets, including all of our originals that are on our new CD, which also will be for sale for the incredible price of only $5. The first chord will be struck at 8:30 p.m. Hope you can join us.
