More radio airplay

In case you didn’t hear the program on Aug. 20, FM 106.1 WMIL-FM played “Lovin’ You Every Single Minute (of the Day),” a song on our new CD, as the lead-off tune for the station’s Homemade Jams program. It was an honor for the band to be included in a strong local band lineup of original music. A big thank-you to the station and to program director and host Duncan MacManus for playing our recording on the Milwaukee area’s highest-rated country music station. To hear what it sounded like on the program, go to our Facebook page.

Big crowd at Pam’s

Thanks to everyone who filled every chair at Pam’s Fine Wines in downtown Mukwonago on Aug. 18. Lots of new fans along with the regulars made it a fantastic night for the band. Next up is a private event in Whitewater. Yes, we are available to do private parties and can design a musical score that will be tailor-made to your event. Just go to the Contact button on this homepage to book us.IMG_2306.jpg

Thanks, State Fair

Rebecca and the Grey Notes most likely is the only band in America that can boast of not one, but two Pulitzer Prize winners in its audience. Thanks to Lou Saldivar and wife Tama and to Dave Umhoefer and his gang for attending our show Sunday at the Wisconsin State Fair‘s Major Goolsby’s Heartland Stage. Also a big thanks to former Hot Type cohorts Cathy Juley Ledvina and husband Tim, and Kathy Schenck Price and Jim Price for support and feedback. Thanks to Enrique Rodriguez for the video. Thanks to Jeff Zmania for the photos. Thanks also to Major Goolsby’s for treating us like royalty with a great stage, sound system (thanks, Jeff), dressing room, beverages and food. And thanks to the State Fair and John Ertl for booking us. We couldn’t be happier.

It’s State Fair Time

This is the last weekend of the Wisconsin State Fair. If you find yourself wandering the grounds between 3:30 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, or between noon and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, please stop by the Major Goolsby’s Stage and pay a visit to Rebecca and the Grey Notes. In addition to playing our original songs from our newest CD and covers of songs from Norah Jones to Bonnie Raitt and B.B. King to Led Zeppelin, we’ll be paying tribute to the country music roots of state fairs by performing a couple of tunes from ’50s country stars Patsy Cline and Skeeter Davis, with twangy notes expertly provided by Tyler. Hope to see you there.IMG_2155

Next up: Potawatomi

2017-04-28 21.47.05.jpg

Our summer tour continues on Thursday, Aug. 10, with a performance at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino’s Fire Pit’s Side Bar. First chord will be struck at 8:30 p.m. This stage is one of the finest you’ll see in the Milwaukee area. The venue is acoustically friendly, and so are the bartenders. We are extremely fortunate to be included among the top local and touring bands who regularly play this top venue. Best of all, there is no cover charge.

A busy August awaits

August will be a busy month for Rebecca and the Grey Notes. On Aug. 4 we will be at the Ozaukee County Fair from 3:30 to 6:45 p.m. On Aug. 10, we return to Potawatomi Hotel & Casino for a gig that starts at 8:30 p.m. Then it’s off to the Wisconsin State Fair for shows at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and 12:15 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Major Goolsby’s Stage. And on Friday, Aug. 18, we return to Pam’s Fine Wines for a show from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Meanwhile, in in the Aug. 3 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and on @jsonline.com, check out an interview we had with J/S music critic Piet Levy. You can find the interview here.
