It’s State Fair Time

This is the last weekend of the Wisconsin State Fair. If you find yourself wandering the grounds between 3:30 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, or between noon and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, please stop by the Major Goolsby’s Stage and pay a visit to Rebecca and the Grey Notes. In addition to playing our original songs from our newest CD and covers of songs from Norah Jones to Bonnie Raitt and B.B. King to Led Zeppelin, we’ll be paying tribute to the country music roots of state fairs by performing a couple of tunes from ’50s country stars Patsy Cline and Skeeter Davis, with twangy notes expertly provided by Tyler. Hope to see you there.IMG_2155

Next up: Potawatomi

2017-04-28 21.47.05.jpg

Our summer tour continues on Thursday, Aug. 10, with a performance at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino’s Fire Pit’s Side Bar. First chord will be struck at 8:30 p.m. This stage is one of the finest you’ll see in the Milwaukee area. The venue is acoustically friendly, and so are the bartenders. We are extremely fortunate to be included among the top local and touring bands who regularly play this top venue. Best of all, there is no cover charge.

A busy August awaits

August will be a busy month for Rebecca and the Grey Notes. On Aug. 4 we will be at the Ozaukee County Fair from 3:30 to 6:45 p.m. On Aug. 10, we return to Potawatomi Hotel & Casino for a gig that starts at 8:30 p.m. Then it’s off to the Wisconsin State Fair for shows at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and 12:15 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Major Goolsby’s Stage. And on Friday, Aug. 18, we return to Pam’s Fine Wines for a show from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Meanwhile, in in the Aug. 3 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and on @jsonline.com, check out an interview we had with J/S music critic Piet Levy. You can find the interview here.

Next up: Tally’s

Our summer road show continues Friday, July 28, with a performance at Tally’s Tap & Eatery, N31-W24661 W. Sunset Drive, Waukesha. First chord will be struck at 8:30 p.m. Tally’s has a superb and bountiful fish fry, so dig in to a great meal and then dig some music.IMG_1439.jpg

In the video studio

Thanks to an invitation from music critic Piet Levy, we’ll be recording a couple of videos on Monday, July 24, for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Tap Milwaukee section. Both videos will be of songs off our new album, “Volume Two.” If everything goes according to plan, the videos and a band interview will be released prior to our two-day stint in mid-August on the Major Goolsby’s Stage at the Wisconsin State Fair.

Photos by Jeff Zmania

If you have been following us for a while, you’ll know that we are blessed with having a great photographer. Jeff Zmania has been taking photos of our band since our first gig in April 2013. He captured our first gig at Summerfest on July 2, and you can review the results here. Check out Jeff’s homepage at www.jmzphoto.comIMG_0539.jpg, where you can purchase his excellent photos.

Next up: Bastille Days

Once again, we had a great time at Pam’s Fine Wines in Mukwonago. Thanks to Pam and Mike for inviting us back. Next up: One of our favorite gigs, Bastille Days. We will be playing two 50-minute sets on July 14 beginning at 4:30 p.m. and ending at 6:30 p.m. This is one of Milwaukee’s most popular street festivals, and we are thrilled to be playing there again. Hope to see you there.Grey Notes Bastille 1.jpg
