Thanks, St. Edward’s

Rebecca and the Grey Notes had a great time Sept. 17 at the St. Edward Church Fall FunFest. It was our first time playing in Racine County, and who knew we had fans there and in Kenosha County? Thanks, Jennie, for the band photo and live Facebook video stream! Barring a late-breaking booking, we’ll be using October to finish fine-tuning our latest recording sessions and learn a couple of more original songs that we might be able to debut during our gigs in November and December. We thank all of our fans who attended our performances throughout this year and look forward to an even busier 2017.rebeccagn-milwalehouse-20150808-1641.jpg

Next up: Racine

RebeccaGN-WisStateFair-20150816-142Thanks to everyone who made our two gigs over the Labor Day weekend truly special. We hope to carry that momentum into our performance Saturday, Sept. 17, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., at the St. Edward Church Fall FunFest in Racine. The festival is at 1401 Grove Ave., just south of Highway 20 and about two miles or so west of downtown Racine. We will be playing two full sets of music that will include our 10 original songs in addition to covers of music by B.B. King, Norah Jones, Bonnie Raitt and more. This show will conclude our 2016 four-county world tour. Hope to see you there.

New gig added

Thanks to everyone who attended our show at the Spring City Wine House in downtown Waukesha. We had a big crowd, and it gives us a chance to play a little quieter than normal so that the nuances of our original music are not buried in volume.

Next up: 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at Tally’s Tap & Eatery on Sunset Drive in Waukesha. We also just added a performance at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. We will be at the Fire Pit’s Side Bar beginning at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3. Both of these performances have no cover charge. Hope to see you there.

Next: Wine in Waukesha

We had a remarkable time at the Wisconsin State Fair at Major Goolsby’s and had our first gig at the Delafield Brewhaus. Thank you to everyone who came out to support us and the new friends we made. We are so grateful to have received posts, messages, emails, and conversations about how you have enjoyed our performances…we’re lookin’ forward to seein’ you at Spring City Wine House on Saturday, August 13, at 7 p.m.

Next up: State Fair

Thanks to everyone who attended our show on Aug. 3 at the Ozaukee County Fair, and thanks to Bret for asking us back this year. We start a busy weekend on Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Wisconsin State Fair, where we will be playing at Major Goolsby’s Heartland Stage from noon to 3 p.m. We also will be there from 3 to 6 on Sunday. It’s a great venue with excellent food and beverages and lots of shade, so please join us. We’ll be playing original music from our first EP as well as five new songs that we just finished recording. We also will be performing Saturday night, Aug. 6, at the Delafield Brewhaus from 9 to midnight.

Ozaukee County Fair

Rebecca and the Grey Notes will be returning to the Ozaukee County FairIMG_2236 on Wednesday, Aug. 3, for an afternoon of rock at the Centre Stage. We will be performing two sets that will include nearly all of our original material along with covers of classic songs by Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronstadt, B.B. King and more. The fair is one of the last in the state that features free admission, so this again is a free show. Hope to see you there.

Music critic’s list

Online and in the Friday, July 29, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the newspaper’s music critic, Piet Levy, wrote a column about 11 local bands to see during the Wisconsin State Fair. Rebecca and the Grey Notes is honored to be mentioned as one of the 11. We will be performing on Aug. 6 and 7 at the Major Goolsby’s Heartland State. Hope to see you there.

A fair in Waukesha

Rebecca and the Grey Notes will be performing from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 22, at the Leinie Lodge Stage at the Waukesha County Fair. We will be playing our new originals that will be included in our forthcoming second EP, along with songs from our first self-titled EP, which was released last year. We’ll also be throwing in some covers of songs by Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, Etta James, Corinne Bailey Rae, Aretha Franklin, B.B. King, Led Zeppelin, the Byrds and others. Hope to see you there!

Busy Week!

We are excited to be headlining at the North Coast Songwriters Showcase this Thursday, July 14th at the Saloon on Calhoun. Stop down at 7 to see local artists Micah Olson, Peter Mac, and Jeff Radi.

We’ll then be back at Bastille Days! 4:30 -6:30, we’re on a new stage this year and just can’t wait! We’ll be hightailing it out of there to play a private party…didn’t know we did those? We do! Contact us to set one up. RebeccaGN-OzaukeeCoFair-20150802-81
